Company History
Henry Ott, the President of The Ott Corporation, dba Prominex, was born in Poland. As a young man he graduated from a technical university in the field of mechanical engineering, and in a very short period of time began exploring various business opportunities. He was very creative and was able to excel in various fields, especially in manufacturing in shipyards in Gdansk, Poland.
In 1980 Henry decided to further pursue his future as an entrepreneur by moving to the United states after being granted political asylum Upon arriving in Seattle, he worked as a machinist developing very difficult components for Boeing Aircrafts. He also attended local colleges to further his education in business, and was later employed by Lockheed. There Henry manufactured components submarines, and helped design and manufacture devices for nuclear testing which aided in limiting radiation emissions underground.
Henry later moved to California in 1984 where he continued his undergraduate studies in business at San Jose State University while working at Applied Materials conducting testing, machining and welding while receiving an award for consistent "0 rejects".
Later in 1989 Henry started his own company in Fremont California called the Ott Company. He then became an entrepreneur in the fields of medical and consumer products. From 1989 to 2001 he designed and prototyped an FDA approved Trocar for Laparoscopy along with international marketing of his device. Moreover, Henry developed parts for microscopic human implants from platinum for the medical industry that were too small to be seen with the naked eye. During this time he also supervised he production of various military aircraft devices.
In 2001 the Ott Company became incorporated as the Ott Corporation, dba Prominex. Today Prominex continues to furnish industries with electromechanical assembly, machining, sheet metal and manufacturing services for parts and assembled products. This includes the ability to design, fabricate, machine, assemble and test to customer specifications. Henry's extensive experience in the manufacturing industry enables Prominex to achieve accurate and precise machining for customer's intricate parts requirements.
Henry also opened a manufacturing facility in Lublin, Poland in 2001 known as Prominex Polska. With 25,000 square feet of space, Prominex Polska has the ability to produce various products, part and components for many different industries, all with equipment and testing that meet American ISO standards. Today, Henry continues to be the President of both Prominex in Fremont and Prominex Polska, overseeing everyday operation of his companies, all while continuing to invent and produce products for both the medical and consumer industries.
Our 8,000 square foot facility enables us to serve the needs of semiconductor industries in Silicon Valley and around the world. We also serve a wide variety of other industries including defense, biomedical, scientific instrumentation, automation robotics and others.
